Dawn of War Seriese 4/5 stars
(RTS)
The Dawn of War Seriese: Is a very solid RTS game solid set of games with, great graphics, good gameplay and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
To me, all of the Dawn of War games had bad storylines. They weren't very good or engaging . If you're good at RTS games, I highly suggest not playing this on easy mode. But.... There are like 8 campaings, which is nice, for varity, and keeping you entertained for awhile.
Dawn of War:
Best campain out of all the DoW games. Infact, if I could only own one of these games. I would get this one.
Dawn of War: Winter Assualt:
This one has a "ok" campaign. But, too much switching between factions.
The Imperial Guard that Winter Assualt added, aren't very good either. The Imperial Guard infantry are too weak and loose moral too quickly. They are mainly officer/leader based infantry. Their vehicles and boss vehicle are very good and strong, but still I'd reccomend playing Space Marines over them any day.
Dawn of War: Dark Crusade:
This expantion is probably the worst campaing out of all of the DoW games. It is bassically a big compilation of little, small and lame scrimages, with no objective other than anilihat enemy. All that, with little to no storyline. But the new races they added are very good for multiplayer. The Tau Empire, which are a mainly stealth based race. With weak vehicles and infantry don't really pack a huge punch. But as I said earlier are stealth based. Which gives you an advantage. The Tau Empire also has an alliance faction, the Kroot. (I do not reccomend playing the Kroot. They are mainly melee, and take no damage.)
In totality there are 8 different races in the DoW seriese, all with different strenghs and weaknesses, which means there's literaly always a race for you. the
Eldar: are very mobility, and stealth based. All of their buildings can teleport to any where on that map that you can see. Also all of their buildings can go invisible.
The Imperial Guard: Ifantry are too weak and loose moral too quickly. They are mainly officer/leader based infantry. Their vehicles and boss vehicle are very good and strong, but still I'd reccomend playing Space Marines over them any day.
Space Marines: They are all around in almost every aspect. Not specializing in any single aspect, but are moderatly too good in almost every cagegory. The Space Marines race has the ability to upgrade their sargents with the "Rally" ability. Which restores squad moral to full. The Space Marines only down side is that they eat up your strategic points fast.
Necrons: are a very reseiliant, mobility and energy based race. Their infantry pack a moderate punch. They don't really have true vehicles, but they have units that are good enough to make up for that.
Chaos Marines: Are very similar to the Space Marines, but are a little weaker, but are cheaper and are a little more mass based, but not by much. All around in almost every aspect. Not specailizing in any single aspect, but are moderatly good in almost every cadigory. (I hate their buildiers' voice >.<)
Orks: Are quantity not quality and are more infantry than vehicle based race. Relying on mass amounts of their units to overwhelm enemy. Although they don't deal much damage individually, they deal considerable damage when together. But, when not in mass, they loose moral fast, and are near to worthless. The Orks vehicles are horrible.
The Tau Empire: which are a mainly stealth based race. With weak vehicles and infantry that don't really pack a huge punch. But as I said earlier they are stealth based. Which gives you an advantage. The Tau Empire also has an alliance faction, the Kroot. (I do not recommend playing the Kroot.)
In the end, all these races give you variety, and each requires totally different strategies and tactics to play.
Final Summary: A very good RTS game, one of the best RTS multiplayer games in fact. Because it doesn't get old, due to their varaity in races. But could still use some improvements in the campaign area (Mainly Dark Crusade), and overall race balancing.
